How many days bryce

How long did you need at Slot Canyons? We were thinking of Bryce then maybe one short side excursion before heading back to Zion since we leave Monday morning, dont want to get back to our hotel too late.

We spent 5 to 6 hours in the park, doing everything that we have listed in this post. Budget 2 to 3 hours for Willis Creek, not including driving time. Depending on sunset time, you might run out of time before it gets dark, if you choose to do Willis Creek.

You can do a short hike at Kodachrome with less time, but Willis Creek is more fun and memorable in my opinion. Great article! Currently planning a family trip for next spring and Bryce Canyon is on our list. Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts to get great info for family travel throughout the national parks!

Thanks for the itinerary that we followed to a T hits past week! Arrived at Bryce Park at am just in time for sunrise at Sunrise Point. Then drove over to Sunset Point parking lot and followed your itinerary as we hiked the Queen Anne trail followed by the Navajo Loop for return. Finally, drove over to Inspiration Point for the photo opp! We had an amazing time.

Love following your travel blog and seeing where your next adventure takes you! Hello Jeff. Happy travels! Great article Julie, we are going to use your itinerary as reference in our upcoming visit to Bryce for 2 days, so thanks a lot for that we are also planning to hike Willis Creek! We expect to arrive to Bryce Canyon next Wednesday around am , do you think we will find parking at Sunset Point at that time on Wednesday?

Would you recommend doing something different? Kind regards. Hello David. I would give it a try. Have fun! Overall your itinerary looks great. Unfortunately, one thing to note is that Observation Point is still closed in Zion. The good news is that the water levels in the Virgin River is decreasing to normal amounts, so if the trend continues, you should be able to hike the Narrows in 3 weeks.

What you do Saturday morning is key to having a good experience in Zion. On Saturday morning, I recommend getting in line early for the shuttle bus so that you can be one of the first on the trails. You could choose to do either the Narrows or Angels Landing this morning. Anytime between 8 am and 4 pm, expect big crowds on all of the open trails in Zion. Willis Creek is a great hike to do after Bryce on Sunday.

On Tuesday, you could visit the Valley of Fire on your way back to Vegas. Just wanted to say hi to you and your family! Thanks and keep up the great work! Thank you for your kind words. Have fun exploring! Hi, can you elaborate on where you parked during your hikes? Did you park only in one place, or drive and make several stops along the way?

Thank you your detail is sooo helpful! I would also love your input… We are doing Zion 3 nights from So Cal in a 31 ft RV next M, T, W with 3 boys years old… playing on doing more activity driven excursions for the boys not so keen on too much hiking in the heat … if we left Zion after a morning excursion by and headed to Bryce could we hike Queens Garden Trail, go to Sunset Point and possibly go to Mossy Cave Waterfall and then head out to Escalante?

Are we trying to move too quickly? Do you have any suggested RV camping spots in Escalante? Thank you Also for the Escalante Pee-aBoo and Spooky Gulches could we bike ride to the entrance and lock our bikes together there? Hello Brandy. If your trip will be during the summer, you can do Bryce Canyon and Sunset Point in the afternoon. Assume 2 hours to get to Bryce, then 4 hours in Bryce Canyon to see the viewpoints and do the hike.

If you have daylight remaining, you can make it to Mossy Cave. Visiting Capitol Reef on the way to Moab is a great idea. If you can, spend 1 day in Arches and 1 to 2 days in Canyonlands. Plus, you would have to stay out of the way of the other hikers. Have a great trip! Great article. Going to Bryce for a day in May, I plan to use your itinerary. Thanks for the information. Terrific article. Very thorough, concise, and helpful.

It will be a great reference for one of our stops! Thank you. From here, continue to Farview Point, where there's a panoramic view to the distant horizon and the Kaibab Plateau, at the Grand Canyon's north rim.

From Farview Point, a dirt path leads several hundred feet north to Piracy Point, which offers good views to the north. After passing the Swamp Canyon overlook, continue until you see a right turn off the main road, where you'll find three viewpoints. The first of these is Paria View, with views to the south of the White Cliffs, which have been carved in the light-colored sandstone by the Paria River. To the north of Paria View, you'll find Bryce Point , a splendid stop for viewing the awesome Bryce Amphitheater, the largest natural amphitheater in the park.

This is also a terrific point to take in distant views of the Black Mountains, to the northeast, and Navajo Mountain, to the south. From here, it's just a short drive back toward the main road and Inspiration Point, a must-see stop offering views similar to those at Bryce Point, plus the best view in the park of the Silent City, a collection of hoodoos that looks like a sleeping city cast in stone. Now return to the main road and head north to Sunset Point, where you can see practically all of Bryce Amphitheater, including the aptly named Thor's Hammer and the foot-tall cliffs of Wall Street.

Continue north to a turnoff for your final stop, at Sunrise Point , where there's an inspiring view into Bryce Amphitheater. This is the beginning of the Queen's Garden Trail, an excellent choice for a quick walk below the canyon's rim. The Best Time to Make the Scenic Drive -- The scenic drive is practically deserted in early mornings -- any time before 9am. In case you still need that information we spent two hours doing that Loop.
